Hybrid Echeverias, like any other species in nurseries, often wind up with two or more names for various reasons. There is not much stopping anybody from selling a plant under a different name at the moment. All you can do, is trust your nursery is not trying to sell you both plants. We take it upon ourselves to ensure that there are significant differences between all of our stock plants before they are listed for sale. No two plants are identical. Part of the problem seems to stem from the cost of labels to a nursery if they have a large royalty component in that cost. It can be cheaper to produce a new label sometimes. Also, bad nursery practices can result in the wrong tag or label being placed in pots that have been in the nursery propagation area for some time before being sold on. All of our stock has a correct label in each pot from day one. It is also possible that you have seen juvenile plants which can sometimes look very similar, or again, mature plants in summer colours, which can also look similar sometimes. c l o s e |
