winter comes closer, decrease the amount of water and fertiliser you give
them, until they are dry about the time your frosts begin. If the area has
heavy frosts, move the container to a sheltered, sunny position, and keep
the leaves and soil dry. Echeverias tolerate extremely cold desert nights,
but the soil is completely dry. Try to imitate the conditions it grows naturally
in. If your area has snow, I recommend a more sheltered position than outside
under the eaves. I have heard of Echeverias surviving -10 degrees Celsius of frost undamaged, but the temperatures were cool during the day also, and there was not a rapid drop overnight
